Uses
- According to CDSCO, Arpizol 20 mg is used in,
- Treatment of various psychotic conditions like schizophrenia
- Treatment of mood disorders like mania
- Treatment of bipolar disorder
- Treatment of symptoms associated with depression
- Treatment of Tourette's syndrome
- Treatment of autism-related irritability
Contraindications
- If you take MAOIs (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors) or have taken them within the last 14 days
- If you have kidney impairment or are on medication for kidney disorders, Arpizol 20 mg tablets can be unsafe for you.
- If you have heart problems. Arpizol 20 mg can cause the heartbeat to speed up or change.
- If you have a low heart rate or symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting.
- If you have diabetes.

- You experience fluctuation in blood sugar levels.
- You experience suicidal or self-harmful thoughts and behavioural changes after taking Arpizol 20 mg Tablet. Caretakers must be vigilant, especially in the case of adolescents and young adults.
- You may experience moderate to severe drowsiness and impairment of physical ability.
- You have angle-closure glaucoma, use this medication with caution.
- You conceive during the course of Arpizol Tabs or are planning a pregnancy.
- Your job involves activities that require a high level of mental attention, such as driving a car or operating machinery.
- Arpizol 20 mg must not be administered to children under the age of 18, because the safety and efficacy of this medicine are not established.
Directions for Use
- Follow your doctor's instructions for taking Arpizol Tablet.
- Do not alter the dosage of Arpizol 20 mg without consulting with the doctor.
- Arpizol 20 mg tablet is not a chewable pill. Ensure you do not crush or break it before taking it.
- Swallow Arpizol 20mg Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not discontinue the use of Arpizol 20 mg without first visiting your doctor.
- Do not handle Arpizol Tabs with wet hands.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Antihypertensive medications can interact with Arpizol 20 mg, causing dizziness, lightheadedness and fluctuating blood pressure levels.
- Arpizol 20 mg can interfere with the therapeutic action of antidiabetic medications. So, blood glucose levels may rise with this co-administration of these two medications.
- Prokinetic agents like metoclopramide interact with Arpizol 20 mg, increasing the risk of abnormal body movements and jerks in the arms and legs.
- Antifungal agents like ketoconazole and itraconazole, when taken with Arpizol 20 mg, the reaction may lead to dizziness, dry mouth and irregular heartbeats.
Interactions with food items
- Taking Arpizol 20 mg Tablet with grapefruit juice may diminish its effectiveness.
- St. John's Wort and Arpizol 20 mg 10 may interact with each other.
