Uses
- As per CDSCO, the Angirex tablet is used in:
- Managing positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia
- Managing symptoms of mood disorders like anxiety and panic disorders
Contraindications
- Do not take Angirex tablets, or use caution:
- If you have hypersensitivity to any ingredient in Angirex tablets.
- If you have dementia (memory loss), this medicine can increase side effects and cause death. Dose adjustment is required.
- If you are diagnosed with disorders like tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements of the face).
- If you are pregnant. This tablet can have serious side effects on the unborn baby, especially in the third trimester.
- If you have a urinary problem, Angirex medicine can worsen it.
- If you are breastfeeding, inform your doctor before taking Angirex medicine.
- If you have central nervous system (CNS) depression (reduced CNS functionality of breathing).
- If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (a condition with increased pressure in the eye); this medicine worsens this condition.
- If you have infectious diarrhoea; Angirex tablets make the elimination of bacteria difficult.
- If you are a child or adolescent below 18 years of age; do not use this medicine without consulting the doctor.

Other General Warnings
- You have hypertension or high blood pressure. Angirex tablets can increase blood pressure.
- You are diagnosed with seizure syndrome. This medicine should be used with extreme caution, as it can increase the risk of seizures.
- You are an older adult. Dose adjustment is needed to prevent excessive side effects. Due to slow metabolism, this medicine is slowly eliminated from the body.
- You have been out in the sun for a long time. Note that Angirx tablets can cause heatstroke.
- You use herbal or Ayurvedic medicines and supplements.
- You suddenly stopped using Angirex tablets, as it can cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome with fever, altered mental status, muscle stiffness, etc.
Directions for Use
- Take the Angirex tablet in the recommended dose and duration.
- Do not take more than the recommended dose without informing the doctor, as this can lead to an overdose.
- Use the tablets immediately after opening their packaging.
- Try to take the whole tablet with a glass of water; do not break or chew it.
- Try to take this medication on time with or without food. In case of stomach issues, have it after meals.
- Check the expiration date before using this medicine.
- Consult your doctor if you have to give it to a child or adolescent under 18. Angirex tablets are not meant for this age group.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not take Angirex tablets if you take medicines for high blood pressure, like metoprolol. Angirex tablets tend to increase blood pressure.
- Using Angirex tablets with opioids (codeine) and narcotic pain relievers (fentanyl) can increase side effects like sleepiness.
- If you take medicines for lowering lung secretions or saliva, Angirex tablets negate the effects of those medicines as it increases the saliva and lung secretions.
- Do not use other antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, or anti-Parkinsonian medications with Angirex tablets. They can cause adverse reactions such as lethargy, drowsiness, etc. This combination can also change medicine efficacy and increase the symptoms of the conditions for which the Angirex tablet is prescribed.
- Other medicines Angirex tablets can interact with are antihistamine (allergy medicine), blood thinners (warfarin), heart medicines, and fever-reducing medicines. These medicines can also change the levels of Angirex tablets in the body, altering their functioning.
