Amitop M Tablet is used for the treatment of various psychological/neurological conditions and neuropathic/nerve pain. It consists of amitriptyline and vitamin B12 as its main ingredients. It is an a
ntidepressant medication. Endogenous depression and other mood disorders cause persistent sadness, anger, loss of interest, etc. Neuropathic pain is a chronic condition caused by some nerve disease in most cases. It can also be because of an injury or an infection. Managing eating disorders, post-herpetic neuralgia (the burning, stabbing pains, or aches that may last for months or years after a herpes infection), and preventing migraine headaches are some other uses of Amitop M Tablet. The dosage of Amitop M Tablet must be carefully monitored. Try to take it exactly as directed by the doctor. Do not stop using it suddenly or skip doses, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms like irritability, sleep problems, fatigue, etc. Amitop M Tablet should be tapered slowly to avoid these effects.

- If you are currently using other antidepressant medications

- If you are suffering from alcohol addiction
- If you have wide-angle or closed-angle glaucoma, an eye condition that increases fluid pressure in the eye.

How Does It Work?

- Swallow Amitop M Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not try to break or crush it.

Interactions with other medicines
- Do not take Amitop M Tablet with certain antidepressants (sertraline, escitalopram) and antipsychotic medications. It can increase serotonin and cause life-threatening symptoms.
- Do not take Amitop M Tablet with thyroid medication unless your doctor advises.
- Do not use Amitop M medication with other sedatives and tranquillisers without consulting a doctor, as it can increase drowsiness.
Interactions with food items
- Coffee contains a substance called tannins. They can bind to Amitop M Tablet and decrease the amount of medicine absorbed by the body. To avoid this interaction, do not have coffee 1 hour before and 2 hours after taking the Amitop M Tablet....
