Amifru 40 tablet is a blood pressure-lowering medicine that is used to treat high blood pressure. It is also used to stop the buildup of extra water in your body. High blood pressure is a condition w
here the force with which your blood pushes against the walls of your blood vessels is continuously too high. This may increase the risk for medical problems like heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. Amifru 40 tablet contains a combination of amiloride and furosemide as active substances that work by removing the extra strain on the heart and blood vessels. Amifru 40 tablet is to be used only in adults aged 18 years and above. Always take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as recommended by your doctor. Do not take this medicine on your own.

Contraindications of Amifru 40/5 Mg Tablet 30
- If you are allergic to amiloride, furosemide, or any other ingredient of Amifru 40 tablet.
- If you are allergic to sulfonamide or sulfonamide derivatives. like sulfamethoxazole. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you have liver or kidney problems.
- If you are dehydrated, have a low blood volume, or are not passing any urine.
- If you have too little or too much potassium or sodium in your blood or are taking medicines that may change the amount of potassium in your blood.
- If you have a disease called Addison's disease.
- If you are under 18 years of age.

Interactions with other medicines

- Amifru 40 tablet should not be used with medicines that can change the amount of potassium in your blood like potassium supplements, potassium chloride, diuretics (triamterene).
- Care should be taken if you are using medicines to treat heart failure (digoxin), high blood pressure (ramipril, losartan), pain/fever (indomethacin, aspirin), mental illness (lithium, risperidone), diabetes (sitagliptin, metformin), asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (theophylline, salbutamol), muscle relaxants (d-tubocurarine), fits/seizures (phenytoin, aminoglutethimide), inflammation (corticosteroids), gastric ulcer (carbenoxolone), laxatives (bisacodyl), depression(reboxetine), fungal infections (amphotericin), cancer (methotrexate), gout (probenecid), bacterial infections (cefalexin). ...
- Sucralfate may reduce the effect of Amifru 40 tablet and must not be taken together.
- Amifru 40 tablets may increase the risk of hearing damage when used with aminoglycosides (gentamicin) or platinum-based anticancer medicines (cisplatin).
- The use of Amifru 40 tablets with cyclosporine increases the risk of gouty arthritis.
