Medical Description
Ambac tablet is an antibiotic used to treat selected bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ears and throat, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, bones, joints and genital tract. It contains a combination of ampicillin and sulbactam. Ampicillin damages the bacterial cell wall, while sulbactam blocks bacterial enzymes that could break down ampicillin, helping ampicillin stay active against susceptible bacteria. Ambac tablet is taken by mouth as a whole with water and only as prescribed for the diagnosed infection.
