Medical Description

Amanta RL (ffs) solution for injection is used for short-term replacement of fluid and electrolytes after trauma or other clinically significant fluid loss. It contains compound sodium lactate, a balanced solution of water, sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and lactate. These components help restore circulation and the body's fluid and mineral balance, while lactate can be processed to help correct mild acidity. A doctor or nurse gives the solution through a vein in a hospital or clinic, with monitoring suited to the patient's condition.

Uses

  • Trauma-related fluid loss: Replaces water and electrolytes after injury, helping support circulation and essential body functions during hospital care.
  • Fluid and electrolyte imbalance: Restores sodium and other minerals when fluid loss disrupts normal balance and affects nerve, muscle or heart function.
  • Dehydration needing intravenous care: Provides fluid when dehydration or illness makes oral replacement unsuitable or insufficient.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to any ingredient of this medicine, do not receive it. It may not be suitable if you have severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, fluid overload or serious electrolyte disturbances. Tell the treating doctor about heart disease, swelling, breathing difficulty or reduced urine output before administration.

Side effects

  • Fluid overload: Too much intravenous fluid may cause swelling, breathlessness or sudden weight gain. Tell the nurse immediately if breathing becomes difficult.
  • Electrolyte imbalance: Changes in blood salts can cause weakness, confusion, muscle cramps or irregular heartbeats. Medical monitoring is needed if these occur.
  • Injection-site irritation: Pain, redness or swelling may occur around the vein. Report worsening discomfort, leakage or increasing redness to the nurse.
  • Allergic reaction: Rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty can occur rarely. Get emergency medical help for swelling of the face, lips or throat or trouble breathing.

How does this medicine work?

Compound sodium lactate provides water and electrolytes directly into the bloodstream. Sodium and chloride help maintain fluid balance and circulation, potassium supports heart and muscle activity, and calcium supports nerve signals, muscle movement and blood clotting. Lactate is processed by the body and can help correct mild acidity associated with fluid loss.

In particular, tell them about medicines that affect kidney function, blood pressure, fluid balance, potassium or other electrolytes, including diuretics and heart medicines.
