Alprax Forte is a prescription medication primarily used to treat panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterised by episodes of sudden or unexpected a
ttacks of extreme fear and worry. Alprax Forte is a combination medicine that contains Sertraline and Alprazolam as the active ingredient. Sertraline is an antidepressant that regulates the chemical messenger called Serotonin, whereas Alprazolam produces calming, sedative effects on the brain. Dosage and duration of Alprax Forte should be taken as advised by your doctor. There are many side effects associated with this medicine; that's why it must be taken after a doctor’s consultation. Don’t stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause clinical worsening of your condition or may lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Contraindications of Alprax Forte Tablets
- If you’re allergic to any component of the Alprax Forte.
- If you are already taking antidepressants, anti-anxiety or sedative medications.
- If you are taking narcotic or opioid pain relievers.
- If you have acute angle glaucoma. (an eye condition that increases the fluid pressure in the eyes)
- If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts or ideation.
- If you have respiratory depression, which is a slow and steady decline in breathing.
- If you have a history of substance abuse.
- If you have liver and kidney disease.

- You’ve a history of mild or severe liver and kidney disease.
- You have withdrawal symptoms like agitation, nausea, tremor, sweating and confusion.
- You are using oral contraceptives. This medicine may reduce its effectiveness.
- You are using any ayurvedic or herbal medicines, vitamins, and other health supplements.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Alprax Forte Tablets
- Follow the doctor’s advice regarding the dose and duration of Alprax Forte.
- You can take this medicine with/without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take this medicine on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day, to maintain its continuous level in the body.
- Swallow Alprax Forte tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not break/crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
- Do not take this tablet with other medications without consulting your doctor.
- Don’t stop taking this medication suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
- Don’t exceed the dosage, even if you can’t feel its effects.

- Concomitant use of this medication with opioids and other CNS depressants is contraindicated, as it may cause respiratory depression, coma and death.
- This medicine should not be used concomitantly or within two weeks of using Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue, Selegiline, Rasagiline, etc. It is potentially life-threatening....
- Interaction with an antidepressant, antihistamines (allergy medicines), Pain killers, such as morphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, hydrocodone, tramadol, codeine, sleeping pills, etc., can increase drowsiness and fatigue....
- Interaction with antifungal medications like itraconazole and ketoconazole can reduce the effects of it.
- Interaction with birth control pills or oral contraceptives can reduce its effectiveness.
- Interaction with Herbal products like St john’s wort can lead to life-threatening side effects.
