Medical Description
Uses
- Agopride Injection is used in men for the treatment of prostate cancer. It lowers testosterone levels, which helps slow the growth of cancer cells that depend on this hormone.
- In pre and perimenopausal women, it is used for hormone-responsive early and advanced breast cancer. It may also be prescribed to preserve ovarian function during chemotherapy.
- It is used in women to treat endometriosis and uterine fibroids, which may cause pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and pressure symptoms. It can also reduce the thickness of the uterine lining before surgery.
- In children, it is indicated for central precocious puberty. It helps delay early sexual development by suppressing premature hormone release from the pituitary gland.
