Medical Description

Afm % lotion is applied to the scalp to help slow common hereditary hair loss and support regrowth in suitable areas. It contains minoxidil, which can widen small blood vessels near hair follicles and improve the local supply of blood and nutrients. This may help some follicles remain active and produce new hair, especially where thinning is present on the top of the scalp. Afm lotion is for external use only and must be applied directly to a clean, dry scalp, not used for sudden unexplained hair loss.

How does this medicine work?

The active ingredient, minoxidil, widens small blood vessels near hair follicles and may improve the local supply of blood and nutrients. This can help some follicles remain active for longer and support new hair growth. Hair benefits may reduce after treatment is stopped.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Afm lotion works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you use. In particular, mention medicines for high blood pressure, medicines that widen blood vessels, other minoxidil products and other scalp treatments, because combined effects may lower blood pressure or increase unwanted hair growth.
