Medical Description
Adquin OZ tablet is a combination medicine used in adults for selected bacterial and parasitic infections, including some digestive, urinary, gynaecological and respiratory infections. It contains ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and ornidazole, an antiprotozoal medicine that also acts against certain bacteria that grow without much oxygen. Ofloxacin blocks bacterial enzymes needed for copying genetic material, while ornidazole damages the genetic material of susceptible parasites and bacteria. The tablet is taken by mouth only when prescribed, and it should not be used for viral illnesses.
