Adenosine 3 MG Description

Adenosine 3 mg injection contains adenosine as its active ingredient. It belongs to the antiarrhythmic class of medications (medications that are used to prevent and treat abnormal heartbeats - arrhy

thmias). Adenosine is present naturally in our body in the RNA (protein in the cells of our body). It is given medically to treat life-threatening irregular beating of the heart (SA and AV node arrhythmia). It acts by decreasing electrical impulses to the heart thereby normalising heartbeat. It is given by a doctor or medical professional in a clinic/hospital setting intravenously. After administering, patients are evaluated for symptoms or side effects and then discharged with instructions. Adenosine 3 mg injection may cause side effects like warm feeling all over the face, neck, ears and chest, nausea, dizziness, headache and disorientation on standing, immediately after administration. The side effects may go away with time. It is prescribed to adults and with caution in older patients and children above 50 kgs of weight.
