Addtrex tablet is a prescription medication. It has a single active ingredient, Naltrexone. Uses of Addtrex tablets include managing symptoms of patients dependent on opioid pain relievers and alcoho
l addiction. Nausea and vomiting are the most common side effects of Addtrex tablets. Patients should not be actively drinking alcohol while taking this medication. Many people can become physically and cognitively dependent on opioid or narcotic pain relievers when they use them for a long time. It is most intense if they have a history of substance abuse. It also helps manage the withdrawal effects of alcohol addiction. The mode of action of Addtrex tablets is to lower the effect of opioid medicines and lower the euphoric effects of alcohol by blocking certain receptors. Note that this medicine does not cause tolerance or have dependency issues. Follow your doctor’s directions for using Addtrex tablets. Patients should be monitored for developing any suicidal thoughts. In most cases, doctors will suggest taking these tablets are for at least 12 weeks. - As per USFDA and CDSCO, the Addtrex tablet is used in the following conditions.
- Treatment for preventing relapse of narcotic/opioid pain reliever dependency, once these medicines are flushed from the body
- Treatment of alcohol dependence in patients who can abstain from alcohol in an outpatient setting

- Do not take any opioids or street substances during your treatment with Addtrex tablets. It blocks the effects of opioid medication. If you use higher amounts of opioids during the treatment with Addtrex tablets, it may lead to serious injury, unconscious state/coma or death....
- Tell your doctor if you are using disulfiram (Antabuse) and thioridazine. Change in dose is required.
