Acenac-MR Tablet

• Acenac MR tablet is used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
• It is also used to provide relief in headaches, toothache, cold, influenza, menstrual cramps, and painful muscle contractions.

• If you are allergic to aceclofenac, paracetamol, thiocolchicoside, or any of the ingredients of Acenac MR tablet
• If you are taking any other product that contains paracetamol.
• If you have a history of peptic ulcers or any blood disorder.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Dizziness
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Stomach pain

Other General Warnings

• You have liver or kidney disease.
• You are suffering from bleeding in the stomach or peptic ulcers.
• You are an alcoholic or are suffering from chronic malnutrition.
• You are an elderly person.
• You have respiratory disorders like asthma.
• You experience severe allergic reactions.

• Take Acenac MR tablet as directed by your physician.
• Swallow this medicine whole with a glass of water.
• Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
• You should not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

• Do not store Acenac MR tablets above 25°C.
• This medicine must be kept away from the reach of children and pets.

How Does It Work?

• Acenac MR tablet contains a combination of aceclofenac, paracetamol, and thiocolchicoside as active substances.
• Aceclofenac and paracetamol are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs). These medicines block the production of prostaglandins, which are chemical substances that cause pain, swelling, and fever. Thus it helps in controlling fever or pain. They also act on the area of the brain which is responsible for controlling temperature and thereby controls the fever.
• Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Acenac MR tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Medicines used to treat nausea or vomiting like metoclopramide or domperidone when used concomitantly can alter the effect of this medicine.
• The effect of blood pressure reducing medicines like captopril, enalapril, antidepressants like lithium, and medicines used to treat gout like probenecid can be altered when used concomitantly with this medicine.
• The effect of medicines to treat heart conditions like digoxin and anti HIV medicines like zidovudine is decreased when used along with this tablet.
• Water pills like furosemide when used together with this medicine, can result in reduced potassium levels in the blood.
• The effect of blood thinners like warfarin can be increased when used together with this medicine.
