Trypsin-Chymotrypsin
Description
Trypsin and Chymotrypsin are proteolytic enzymes known for their anti-inflammat
ory and anti-edematous (anti-swelling) actions. They break down excess protein debris and inflammatory exudates that accumulate in tissues following injury, surgery, or localized trauma. This protein-clearing activity helps reduce tissue congestion, supports healthier microcirculation, and accelerates overall healing. These enzymes are often used together because their complementary proteolytic profiles enhance the breakdown of inflammatory byproducts. By reducing the burden of damaged proteins, they help the body resolve inflammation more efficiently and restore normal tissue function. Trypsin–Chymotrypsin is commonly available in oral dosage forms, including tablets and enteric-coated formulations. The enteric coat ensures the enzymes remain intact as they pass through the stomach, allowing them to reach the intestine where they can be absorbed and exert their systemic anti-inflammatory effects.
