Contraindications
When should one not use Lercanidipine
- Do not take this medicine if:
- You are allergic to this medicine or other calcium channel blocker medicines
- You have heart failure
- You have severe kidney disease
- You have severe liver disease
- You have unstable angina
- You are pregnant
- You are breastfeeding
- You are taking Ciclosporin, antifungal medicine, Macrolide antibiotics, antiviral medicine

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Lercanidipine blocks L-type calcium channels in the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, relaxing them, and thus lowering blood pressure.

- The medicine should be taken at least 15 minutes before breakfast, as a diet rich in fat increases medicine level in the blood
- Grapefruit or its juice increases the effect of medicine
- The patient should reduce salt intake, eat more potassium-rich foods, avoid caffeine
