Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Xenia Trio Forte tablet is a combination medication that contains sitagliptin, metformin, and empagliflozin. Metformin works by reducing glucose production in the liver and increasing the body’s response to insulin. Sitagliptin boosts insulin secretion and lowers post-meal glucose levels by enhancing the activity of hormones naturally produced by the body. Empagliflozin helps remove excess glucose through urine by preventing its reabsorption in the kidneys....
- Together, these actions support one another, resulting in decreased sugar production, improved insulin function, and increased glucose elimination. This multi-target approach provides more effective and balanced blood sugar control, helping to reduce the risk of long-term complications related to type 2 diabetes....
