Description

Wikoryl 5 tablet is a medication used to provide relief from symptoms associated with the common cold and upper respiratory tract allergies. This medicine addresses nasal and sinus congestion, headache, sinus pain, and the allergic symptoms of the nose and throat. It is a combination of paracetamol, which acts as a pain reliever and fever reducer; phenylephrine, which helps reduce nasal stuffiness by constricting blood vessels in the nose; and chlorpheniramine, an antiallergic component. You should take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor to relieve symptoms such as headache, sore throat, runny nose, muscular pain, and fever.

Before you start taking Wikoryl 5 tablet, it is crucial to discuss your complete medical history, including any pre-existing conditions, especially kidney, liver, heart, or blood vessel-related problems, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, or closed-angle glaucoma. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as the medicine should only be used in these situations if specifically recommended. You must also inform your doctor about all the other medications, supplements, or herbal products you are currently taking or plan to take to prevent potential interactions, particularly with medicines like monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, and certain blood pressure medications.

Take Wikoryl 5 tablets at the exact dose and duration your doctor prescribes, swallowing each tablet whole with water, without cutting, breaking, or chewing. You may take it with or without food. It is vital not to exceed the prescribed dose. While taking this medicine, you should avoid alcohol and refrain from driving or operating machinery if you experience any effects that might impair your ability to drive safely. Wikoryl 5 tablet is not recommended for children under 2 years of age and should be stored below 30 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children and pets.

Common side effects of Wikoryl 5 tablet may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and headache. If these effects persist or worsen, you should inform your doctor. If you think you have taken too much, contact your doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; however, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
