Uses
- As per CDSCO, Voxamin tablet is used in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression.
Contraindications
- Do not take Voxamin tablets or take with caution:
- If you have unstable epilepsy.
- If you have symptomatic hyponatremia.
- If you are hypersensitive to Fluvoxamine or any of the ingredients of this tablet.

- Nausea

- Increased irritability

- Delayed ejaculation
- Erectile dysfunction
- Loss of sexual drive

- You have glaucoma, a condition that increases pressure in the eyes; the dosage of this medication may be modified.
- You have seizures; the dosage of this medication may be modified.
- You have a heart condition; the dosage of this medication may be modified.
- You have kidney or liver disease; the dosage of this medication may be modified.
- You develop self-harming thoughts while on this medication.
Directions for Use
- Swallow Voxamin tablet whole; do not split, crush, or chew it.
- Take this medication at the recommended dose. Do not alter the dose in any way, as this may lead to undesirable side effects.
- It is recommended that this medication be taken at a fixed time every day, preferably at night.
- Voxamin tablets can be taken with or without food.
- It is important to take this medication for the entire duration prescribed by the doctor. This holds true even if you begin to feel better. Abruptly stopping this medication can lead to side effects such as increased irritability, difficulty sleeping, nausea or anxiety.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Co-administration of Tranylcypromine or other monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) with Voxamin tablets is contraindicated; the risk or severity of adverse effects of this medicine can be increased. Taking them within 14 days of treatment is also contraindicated.
- Co-administration of Tapentadol or other serotonergic agents is not recommended; it may increase the central nervous system (CNS) depressant effects of the medicine and precipitate a dangerous side effect called Serotonin Syndrome.
- Co-administration with other benzodiazepines and strong painkillers like tramadol is not recommended as it can potentiate its actions.
- Co-administration with warfarin, Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin, or other medicines affecting coagulation is not recommended; it may lead to an increased risk of bleeding.
- The metabolism of certain medicines like Carbamazepine and Tacrine may be decreased when administered with Fluvoxamine. This may lead to dangerous side effects.
