Do not drive if you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired or visual disturbances after taking the tablet.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol after taking Vinlep tablet?
A:
Drinking alcohol can increase the sleepiness caused by oxcarbazepine, therefore, consult your doctor first.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You have previously experienced an allergic reaction after taking this medicine or any other components of the tablet
- You have problems with heart rhythm
- You are using hormonal contraceptives
- You are taking medicines that may affect the blood sodium levels like diuretics, ibuprofen or indomethacin or any other medicines
- You develop skin or other rashes after use of this tablet
- You start to experience any other discomfort like breathlessness, chills, ulcers, bleeding after starting Vinlep therapy
- You have heart problems or heart failure
- You have liver problems or develop it while taking Vinlep
- You have kidney issues, especially those related to low sodium in the blood
- You regularly drink alcohol
- You start to have negative thoughts after starting Vinlep
- You are being treated for any other conditions you are suffering from
- You are intolerant to certain sugars like lactose

How Does It Work?
Patients that have epilepsy experience uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain. Oxcarbazepine acts by helping control the electrical activity in the brain, which is responsible for seizures. It reduces the chances of having seizures. It is mainly used to treat a particular type of seizures called partial seizures....
Directions for Use of Vinlep 600 MG
- Take the tablet as whole with water
- Do not chew or crush the tablet
- You may use the line on the tablet to split it into half for easy swallowing
- Do not alter the dosage without a doctor's consultation and do not forget to take the table
- The tablet can be taken with or without food
- Do not stop taking the medicine abruptly as your symptoms might worsen
- Follow other specific instructions given by the doctor
Interactions of Vinlep 600 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Coadministration with lithium may cause toxicity to the kidney
- The effect of contraceptives may be reduced if taken together with Vinlep
- Concomitant administration with ciclosporin, tacrolimus, carbamazepine may reduce their concentrations in the blood and reduce their activity
- Vinlep may increase blood levels of phenytoin or phenobarbital if given together
- Valproic acid if given with Vinlep may decrease levels of oxcarbazepine in the blood
- Rifampicin can decrease blood levels or oxcarbazepine and reduce its effect
- Concurrent use of lamotrigine with Vinlep can increase the risk of adverse effects like nausea, headache, dizziness
- Co-administration with other anti-epileptic medicines may reduce their blood levels
Storage and disposal of Vinlep 600 MG
Keep Vinlep tablet out of reach of children. Do not use them after the expiry date. Store the tablets at room temperature in a cool dry place, away from light.
Dosage of Vinlep 600 MG
Overdose
If you take more dose than prescribed, contact your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Carry the strip with you.
Missed a Dose
In case of a forgotten dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for another dose, do not take this one.
