Vanlid 250 mg injection is an antibiotic. Treating and managing several different types of bacterial infections, such as infectious endocarditis, bone infection, pneumonia, skin infections, etc., is

the primary use of the Vanlid 250 mg injection. This injection is also used to treat upper respiratory tract infections. This injection should be given intravenously or into the vein. The main component of this injection is Vancomycin. The mode of action of Vanlid 250 mg injections is to kill the bacteria and lower the infection and symptoms associated with the infection, such as fever, lethargy, etc. This medication is ineffective against infections caused by cold, flu, viruses, or fungi. This medicine can be given to adults and children of all ages. Diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting are some of the common side effects of the Vanlid 250 mg injection. Most of them do not require any medical attention. However, it is best to consult the doctor in case of persisting or worsening symptoms. It should be given only after the susceptibility of the bacteria is known, or else the bacteria can develop resistance against Vanlid injection.

  • Vanlid 250 mg injection is contraindicated in the following cases:
  • If you have a history of serious hypersensitivity to Vancomycin or other similar antibiotics. Allergy to this medicine is common. So, hypersensitivity should be checked before giving this injection.
  • If you want to give this medicine intramuscularly (IM) or into the muscle. It can lead to necrosis at the site of injection.
