Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

The active components of Ulrex tablets are Clidinium, Chlordiazepoxide, and Magnesium hydroxide. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine class of medicine. It increases the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical messenger. GABA reduces the excessive action of nerve cells in the brain. It blocks the production of stomach acids and lowers the anxiety associated with this disease. Clidinium is an antispasmodic medicine. It inhibits the action of acetylcholine, a natural substance in the body. It helps relax and calm the intestinal muscles, relieving stomach pain and cramps. Magnesium hydroxide helps draw water into the intestines to help soften stool and increase bowel movement. It reduces stomach acid and treats other symptoms, such as heartburn or a stomach upset.
