This medicine is a type of angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) medicine, which is used to treat high blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels so as to ensure the smooth flow of blood. The generic name of the medicine is telmisartan.

This medicine interacts with aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, naproxen), potassium-containing supplements, warfarin, lithium, digoxin, ramipril, oral contraceptive and cough syrups.

You should abstain from food rich in high potassium levels and prefer low salt diet.
