Description
Telekast F Tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It contains a combination of montelukast and fexofenadine. This Tablet is used for the management of symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis i
s also known as hay fever. It is a condition of inflammation or swelling inside your nose due to an allergen. The symptoms of allergic rhinitis include runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other allergic symptoms. Telekast F works by blocking the production of chemicals that cause the symptoms of allergy. While taking this medicine you should rinse your nose regularly with salt water to clear the allergen from your nasal passage. As a precautionary measure you should avoid exposure to a particular allergen you are aware of or suspect is triggering your allergy. Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.

Talk to your doctor if
- You have any blood disorder, abnormal blood count and swelling of blood vessels.
- You have any heart-related disorder, joint disorder or muscle weakness.
- You are suffering from any brain-related problems like aggression, anxiety, depression, abnormal dreams, lack of sleep, irritation, restlessness or suicidal thoughts.
- You have known allergy to aspirin or other painkillers or you have acute asthma.
- You have kidney or liver function problem or you are an elderly patient.
- You are experiencing rapid heartbeats, palpitations and excessive sweating

How Does It Work?
Montelukast works by blocking the action of allergic mediator leukotrienes by binding to leukotriene receptors and helps in relieving the symptoms of allergy. Fexofenadine works by blocking the action of natural substance histamine which is produced by the body during allergic reactions....
Directions for Use
- It should be taken as a whole with a sufficient amount of water as instructed by your doctor.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Certain medicines can affect the way Telekast F M Tablet works or Telekast F M Tablet itself can affect the action of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction. Especially if you are taking medicines like antibiotics, antifungals, antacids, anti-depressants, and medicines used to treat certain health conditions....
- Medicines acting on the brain to produce calmness if taken along with Telekast F may reduce the alertness and impairment of performance.
- Maintain a minimum gap of 2 hours between the administration of Telekast F and antacid medicines containing aluminium and magnesium.
- Other medicines such as Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Rifampin and Gemfibrozil should be used cautiously. Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines.
Interactions with food items
- Grapefruit juice, orange or apple may interfere with the activity of this medicine.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose....
