Medical Description
Syndopa Plus Tablet is a medication primarily used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, a central nervous system disorder that affects movement and coordination. The disease is characterized by symptoms such as tremors, spasms, muscle stiffness, difficulty in walking, and poor balance. These symptoms occur due to low dopamine levels in the brain, as the neurons responsible for producing dopamine gradually die.
Syndopa Plus Tablet contains two active ingredients: Levodopa and Carbidopa. Levodopa, a central nervous system agent, is converted into dopamine in the brain, which helps improve movement and control. Carbidopa, a decarboxylase inhibitor, works by preventing the breakdown of Levodopa in the bloodstream, ensuring that more Levodopa reaches the brain for effectiveness.
This medication should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, and its use should continue as directed. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, light-headedness, lowered blood pressure, confusion, and dyskinesia (involuntary muscle movements). These side effects usually resolve over time and do not require medical attention unless they persist or worsen. If you experience severe or persistent side effects, consult your doctor promptly.
It is important to inform your doctor if you are allergic to any components of the medication or have a medical history that includes glaucoma, asthma, dizziness, mental illness, or intense urges such as gambling, overeating, or increased sexual impulses. Additionally, Syndopa Plus should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Levodopa must also be discontinued at least 12 hours before starting this medication. Always communicate openly with your doctor about your medical condition and any concerns before beginning Syndopa Plus Tablet.
Syndopa CR tablet, Tidomet Plus tablet and LCD tablet are a few other medicines containing levodopa and carbidopa.
