Description
Storfib 160mg Tablet contains atorvastatin and fenofibrate as the main ingredient. This medicine is used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. Atorvastatin inhibits the enzyme responsible for the
production of cholesterol in the liver. This helps to reduce the blood levels of cholesterol. Fenofibrate increases the breakdown of lipids and the elimination of triglycerides from plasma. This medicine is only available on a doctor's prescription and should be taken at a dose and for a duration prescribed by the doctor. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is also not recommended in children below 10 years. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredients or if you have other health problems. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, joint pain, muscle pain, upset stomach, and diarrhoea. If these effects persist or worsen, seek medical help immediately.

Directions for Use
- The dose and duration of the medicine must be followed strictly as directed by the doctor
- Consume the tablets with water
- Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of fibric acid derivatives, niacin, cyclosporine, clarithromycin, gemfibrozil, colchicine, HIV protease inhibitors, or itraconazole increases the risk of myopathy
- Concomitant use of strong inhibitors of CYP3A4 increases blood levels of atorvastatin
- Concomitant use of clarithromycin or itraconazole increases blood levels of atorvastatin
- Concomitant use of several combinations of tipranavir plus ritonavir, saquinavir plus ritonavir, darunavir plus ritonavir, fosamprenavir, fosamprenavir plus ritonavir, glecaprevir plus pibrentasvir, elbasvir plus grazoprevir, nelfinavir, boceprevir, or telaprevir increases blood levels of atorvastatin...
- Concomitant use of efavirenz, rifampin reduces blood levels of atorvastatin
- Concomitant use of digoxin reduces blood levels of digoxin
- Concomitant use of norethindrone and ethinyl oestradiol increases blood levels of these medicines
- Concomitant use of anticoagulants can prolong the bleeding time
- Concomitant use of cyclosporine and tacrolimus produces toxicity in the kidneys and decreases the excretion of fenofibrate
- Concomitant use of bile acid sequestrants decreases absorption of fenofibrate

Grapefruit juice increases blood levels of atorvastatin
