ites, etc. It helps to lower the symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, skin itching, rash, redness, swelling, watery eyes, flu-like symptoms, etc. The main component of this medication is Levocetirizine. It is an antihistamine. The mode of action of Starcet 5 mg tablets is to stop the release of certain chemical substances due to the presence of allergens in the body. These substances mediate various allergic symptoms, which are prevented from occurring. The symptoms of allergies vary from one person to another. There are a few common side effects of the Starcet 5 mg tablet, such as drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, stomach pain, etc. This medicine causes less drowsiness compared to other antihistamines. Uses of Starcet 5 MG

  • As per CDSCO and USFDA, the Starcet 5 mg tablet is indicated to treat the following conditions.
  • To lower the symptoms associated with seasonal and annual allergic rhinitis
  • The treatment of the uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria (long term allergies with no known cause)
  • Conjunctivitis (red, itchy eye)
  • Eczema (itchiness and red skin)
  • Hives (red, raised patches or dots)
  • Skin reactions to insect bites and stings
  • Some food allergies

Contraindications of Starcet 5 MG

  • Do not use Starcet 5 mg tablets or use caution:
  • If you have a history of serious hypersensitivity to levocetirizine or other similar medicines. Serious allergic reactions require immediate emergency treatment with supportive measures.
  • If you have any severe kidney impairment and the creatinine clearance is at less than 10 mL/min.
  • If you are undergoing dialysis
  • If you are giving this tablet to a child aged 6 to 11 years with a kidney problem.
  • If you are currently breastfeeding, it causes side effects in the breastfed child.
  • If you are doing something that requires complete mental attention, such as driving or operating heavy machinery.
  • If you want to use this medicine in children below the age of 6. Consult your doctor for age-appropriate dosage.
  • If you have a rare genetic problem such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose malabsorption, you should not take this medicine.
