Other General Warnings
- You experience withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly discontinuing Serta 25 mg may increase the risk of experiencing adverse side effects, more so if the medicine has been used for a long time. It is recommended that the dose be tapered over time. Do not stop taking Serta 25 mg before consulting a doctor.
- You are having suicidal thoughts. People with depression should use this medicine with caution. Serta can increase the risk of confusion and developing suicidal thoughts. It is essential to report any changes in your feeling to your doctor, so they can alter the dose as needed.
- You have a history of seizure disorders. Serta 25 mg should be used with extreme caution in patients who have a history of seizure disorders. Serta 25 mg increases the risk of recurrent seizures. If you develop seizures or an increase in the frequency of seizures, the medicine should be discontinued. Talk to your doctor about a suitable replacement.
- You have low sodium levels. Serta can cause low sodium levels in the blood. Patients on diuretics (water pills) are more likely to suffer from low sodium levels. Your doctor may need to monitor your sodium levels during the time you take the medication.
- You have impaired liver function. Serta 25 mg is broken down or metabolised in the liver. People with liver disease may not be able to break down the medicine effectively, which can make it harder for the body to eliminate it. Serta should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver diseases. Your dosage will need adjustment according to your clinical condition.
