Medical Description

Septamin Forte injection is used to correct selected vitamin B deficiencies and support nerve function when a clinician recommends injectable replacement. It contains a combination of methylcobalamin, thiamine, pyridoxine, D-panthenol and niacinamide. Methylcobalamin supports nerves and red blood cell formation, thiamine and pyridoxine help nerve signalling and energy metabolism, and niacinamide and D-panthenol support cell and tissue functions. Septamin Forte injection is administered by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic and must not be self-injected.

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

The vitamin B12 form methylcobalamin supports nerve cells and red blood cell formation. Thiamine helps convert food into energy and supports nerve signals. Pyridoxine supports protein metabolism and nerve function. Niacinamide supports energy production and normal cell activity, while D-panthenol contributes to tissue repair and metabolic processes.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Septamin Forte injection works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention antacids, antibiotics, medicines for high blood pressure, medicines for heart conditions and medicines for bone disorders. Antacids can interfere with absorption of some vitamin products taken by mouth, although this injection bypasses the stomach, so do not change antacid treatment without asking the prescriber.
