Secef 400 MG Description

Secef Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It helps with infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ears, sinuses, throat, and some sexually transmitted diseas

es. You should take this medication only with the guidance of a healthcare professional. Take Secef Tablet regularly at the same times each day as your doctor directs. It’s important to finish the entire course of antibiotics, even if you start to feel better. Stopping early can lead to infections coming back or getting worse. Secef Tablet works for bacterial infections but not viral infections like the flu or the common cold. Using antibiotics when you don’t need them can make them less effective for future infections. Can I take Secef Tablet during pregnancy?

Since there is limited safety information available during pregnancy, Secef Tablet should not be used during pregnancy unless it is considered essential by your doctor.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Secef Tablet while breastfeeding?

It is unknown whether Cefixime passes into the breastmilk. Hence, it is advised to discontinue nursing temporarily if you are treated with Secef Tablet. If you are taking this medicine while breastfeeding, watch for diarrhoea in your baby.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Secef Tablet?

Secef Tablet can cause side effects like confusion, altered consciousness, feeling less alert, fits. If you experience any of these, don’t drive or use machinery.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Secef Tablet?

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this antibiotic.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
You experience skin reactions after taking Secef Tablet.
You have or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
You are suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
You experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.
You develop any allergic reaction after using Secef Tablet.

Mode of Action of Secef 400 MG

How Does It Work?

Secef Tablet works by inhibiting the growth of the cell wall of bacteria, which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.

Directions for Use of Secef 400 MG

Take Secef Tablet as directed by your doctor.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Always complete the course of antibiotic medicine and do not discontinue on your own.

Interactions of Secef 400 MG

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Secef Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
Especially, if you are taking Carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures) and blood thinners such as Warfarin.
Secef Tablet may alter the clotting parameters and there is a risk of unusual bleeding.

Store Secef Tablet below 25°C, protected from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Dosage of Secef 400 MG

Overdose

Seek medical care immediately in case you happen to take too much of Secef Tablet. This medicine may cause a risk of encephalopathy (damage to your brain) if taken in large quantities.

Missed a Dose
