How Does It Work?

Sevelamer binds to the phosphorus present in the food and prevents it from getting absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, controlling the levels of phosphate in the blood.

Directions for Use of Renecar 400 MG

  • Take Renecar 400 tablets as per the doctor's prescription
  • Do not take more than the prescribed dose per day

Interactions of Renecar 400 MG

Interactions with other medicines

  • The bioavailability of ciprofloxacin decreases when co-administered with sevelamer
  • Co-administration of sevelamer with cyclosporin, mycophenolate mofetil reduces levels of cyclosporin when given to transplant patients
  • Co-administration with levothyroxine may lead to hypothyroidism in rare cases; therefore, close monitoring of thyroid-stimulating hormone levels is recommended
  • Caution should be exercised when taking anti-arrhythmic and anti-seizure medicinal products
  • Co-administration with proton pump inhibitors may cause an increase in phosphate levels in very rare cases
  • The medicinal product should not be administered with this medication as it may cause a reduction in bioavailability
