R Cinex E Tablets are used in the treatment of tuberculosis or TB infection. It is composed of three active ingredients: isoniazid, rifampicin, and ethambutol. All three are anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) medications. They all work in various ways to kill the bacteria and lower the infection. It is essential not to stop using this medicine in the middle of the treatment, even if you feel better.
Doctors usually prescribe to take R Cinex E tablets for at least a few months. The treatment duration depends on various aspects, such as the condition of the patient. The doctors will assess and decide on a treatment plan. Continue the treatment for the entire course without stopping. Or else, the infection might come back, and it would get even harder to treat.
Tuberculosis is a very contagious bacterial infection that affects the lungs. TB bacteria die very slowly; hence the treatment is so long. It also quickly develops resistance to anti-tuberculosis medicines.

- Treatment of tuberculosis infection.
Contraindications
If you have a known allergy to any of the components of R Cinex E Tablets.
If you have a history of vision disorders like optic neuritis, this medicine can worsen the condition.
If you have gout or increased uric acid levels in the body
If you have acute or severe liver failure.
If you have a condition known as peripheral neuropathy ( pain caused by the damage of the nerves). R Cinex E Tablet reduces vitamin B6 levels in the body, which will worsen this condition.

Talk to your doctor if
- You have already had tuberculosis before and used the R Cinex E tablets before for the treatment of TB, inform your doctor.
- You want to stop using this medicine as you are feeling better. Do not stop in the middle and finish the entire course of this treatment. Otherwise, the infection may come back, and it will become harder to fight the bacteria.
- You have tingling sensations or nerve pain or damage. It may be due to vitamin B6 deficiency, which can cause inflammation of nerves.
- You are on oral birth control pills. This medicine reduces their effectiveness, so use other contraceptive methods like condoms, diaphragms, etc.
- You take antacids regularly. Do not take antacids immediately after taking this tablet.
Directions for Use
- Take an R Cinex E Tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- You can take them 1 to 2 hours before consuming food.
- Do not exceed the dosage.
- Take this pill as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not break the tablet or chew it.
- Do not take R Cinex E if the package has been already opened.
- Do not suddenly stop taking this tablet, as it can have adverse effects.
- Do not take R Cinex E Tablet with other medications without informing your doctor.
Storage and disposal
Store R Cinex E Tablets in dry conditions and at room temperature, away from wet surfaces, direct sunlight, and humidity. Dispose of this medicine's packaging after use. Check the expiration date before taking them. Do not use these tablets if they are past the expiration date. Keep R Cinex E Tablets away from children and pets.

Overdose
- Overdose of R Cinex E Tablets causes symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, itching, slurred speech, increased heart rate, urinary retention, lack of consciousness, and dark-coloured skin, urine, saliva, or stools. If you have these overdose symptoms, contact your doctor and seek medical treatment.
Missed a Dose
It is essential not to miss the R Cinex E Tablet dose. If you missed it and it is the same day, take the missed dose. If it's the next day, skip the missed dose and take it from that day. Do not take both doses on the same day. Consult your doctor immediately if you miss more doses consecutively.
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
R Cinex E tablet has a combination of three active components: Isoniazid, rifampicin, and ethambutol. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming a protective layer, which helps it survive. Rifampicin inactivates RNA polymerase, an enzyme in the bacteria required for making proteins and multiplying. Ethambutol reduces the growth of the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of specific proteins.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- If you are using Phenytoin (anti-seizure medicine) or disulfiram (for alcoholism), R Cinex E Tablet will increase the level of these medicines in the blood and cause adverse effects.
- Rifampicin (a component of this tablet) is contraindicated in HIV-positive patients using certain types of antivirals like protease inhibitors.
- If you have oral contraceptives, blood thinners (warfarin), certain diabetic medicines (sulfonylureas), and methadone, R Cinex E Tablet can decrease the level of these medicines in the blood.
Interactions with food items
- Try to take R Cinex E Tablet on an empty stomach, or else the food can interfere with the effectiveness of this medicine. If you experience severe stomach upset, you can take them after a meal.
