• If you have ever experienced a severe skin rash, skin peeling, blistering, or mouth sores after taking Peramnel tablet.
• If you are allergic to Peramnel tablet or any of the other ingredients in this medication.
• If you have liver problems or moderate to severe kidney issues.
• If you have a history of alcoholism or drug dependence.
• If you have suicidal thoughts.
• If you are a child under 7 years of age.

• Feeling dizzy
• Feeling sleepy (drowsiness or somnolence)
• Increased or decreased appetite, weight gain
• Experiencing aggression, anger, irritability, anxiety, or confusion
• Difficulty walking or other balance issues (ataxia, gait disturbance, balance disorder)
• Slow speech (dysarthria)
• Blurred or double vision (diplopia)
• Spinning sensation (vertigo)
• Feeling nauseous (nausea)
• Back pain
• Extreme fatigue
• Experiencing falls

Other General Warnings

• You are at a greater risk of falling, especially if you are older, so take care to avoid fractures.
• You are experiencing unusual or drastic changes in behaviour or mood, abnormal thinking, and/or a loss of touch with reality.
• You are having thoughts of suicide.
• You have a history of alcoholism or drug dependence.

• Take Peramnel tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow whole, do not chew, crush, or break.
• It can be taken with or without food, but it's best to take it at the same time each day.

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date.
• Store in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.

Interactions with other medicines

• Tell your doctor if you're currently taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal remedies. Using Peramnel tablet with certain medications could cause side effects or reduce their effectiveness. Don't start or stop any medications without checking with your doctor.
• Some anti-epileptic medications, like carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, and phenytoin, may affect Peramnel tablet. Let your doctor know if you are using or have recently used these, as you might need a dose adjustment.
• Felbamate, another epilepsy treatment, could also impact Peramnel tablet. Inform your doctor if you are taking this medication, as your dosage might need to change.
• Midazolam, used for seizures and sedation, could be influenced by Peramnel tablet. If you're taking midazolam, let your doctor know; your dose might need to be adjusted.
• Other medications like rifampicin (for bacterial infections), hypericum (St. John’s Wort, for mild anxiety), and ketoconazole (for fungal infections) may also affect Peramnel tablet. Inform your doctor if you are using these drugs, as a dosage adjustment may be necessary.
• If you're using hormonal contraceptives (like pills, implants, injections, and patches), tell your doctor. Peramnel tablet may reduce the effectiveness of certain contraceptives, such as levonorgestrel. Consider using reliable alternative contraception (like condoms or an IUD) while taking Peramnel tablet and for one month after stopping it. Discuss your contraception options with your doctor.
