Medical Description

Panazep tablets are primarily used to treat depression and other neurological conditions. They help elevate the levels of certain chemicals that have a calming effect on our nervous system. They decrease the excessive and abnormal activity of our nerve cells. They should exactly be used under the guidance of a doctor and should not be taken on our own. It contains two main ingredients: paroxetine and clonazepam. Panazep tablets are a habit-forming medication; thus, they should be used cautiously, especially among drug abusers, and their caregivers should keep an eye on them. The medicine should be taken at a fixed time of the day so that a significant amount of this medication remains in the system at all times of the day. It is best to take this medication before sleeping. Avoid doing any activity that requires strenuous physical work after taking this medication, including lifting heavy objects or exercising and avoid doing activities that require focus and concentration. Do not discontinue its use abruptly. Consult your doctor before stopping the medicine, as it may lead to the appearance of withdrawal symptoms. Doctors will gradually decrease its dosage step by step to avoid withdrawal symptoms from appearing. Tell the doctor about the history of all your diseases and the medications you have used in the past or are using currently to avoid undesirable effects of drug interaction with Panazep tablets.

Contraindications

Panazep tablets are contraindicated in the following:
In case of allergy from clonazepam and paroxetine.
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
Pimozide
thioridazine

Pregnancy

Breast Feeding

Directions for Use

Panazep tablets are taken with a glass of water.
They are swallowed and can be taken on an empty stomach.
Do not chew or crush the tablet.
Avoid taking it with alcohol or any other form of liquor for getting the best results.

Storage and disposal

It should be stored in an airtight vessel and in a manner so that it remains away from light, heat, and moisture. It should be kept away from children and pets reach. Before ingesting, the expiry date should always be diligently checked. It can be given to the recycling department or be thrown along with the biomedical waste of the house for disposing of.

It can be harmful if taken in high doses. It can result in symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sinus tachycardia etc. however, consult your doctor immediately in any case of accidental overdosing.

Missed a Dose

In case of a missed dose, you can take it as soon as you remember, but if it gets the time for the next dose of Panazep tablets, it’s better to avoid the missed dose and continue the dosage as it is by taking the next dose timely and ignoring the last missed dose. How Does It Work?

Panazep tablets contain paroxetine and clonazepam. Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It operates by boosting the amount of serotonin in our nerve cells. This chemical is directly related to improving our mood and making it good, thus decreasing the symptoms of depression. On the other hand, clonazepam is an example of a derivative of benzodiazepines. It primarily acts on a neurotransmitter called GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Clonazepam increases the level of GABA in nerve cells, further suppressing the overactivity of brain cells and calms our nervous system. Benzodiazepines are habit-forming medications; thus, they should be used with caution.
