How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- The antiepileptic medicines (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine) increases the clearance of clonazepam, thereby decreasing the plasma concentrations up to 38% during combined treatment.
- Clonazepam influences the concentrations of phenytoin. Due to the dual nature of clonazepam-phenytoin interaction, phenytoin levels are unchanged, increased or decreased upon co-administration with clonazepam depending on dosing and patient factors.
Interactions with food items
- Ozepam Tablet interacts with grapefruit juice that decreases the activity of cytochrome P-450 3A4, which is used in the metabolism of clonazepam and may increase plasma levels of the medicine.
