• If you are allergic to Benzocaine or Chloramphenicol or any other ingredients of Otek AC ear drops.
• If you have a hole in your eardrum.
• If you or any family member is suffering from a blood or bone marrow disease post the use of this ear drop.
• If you have a family history of dyscrasias (symptoms include fatigue, bruising and increased risk of infections).

• Stinging or burning sensation in the ear.
• Irritation, redness or itching in the ear.

Other General Warnings

• You experience any allergic reactions of the skin after using Otek AC Neo ear drops.
• You experience other infections after using Otek AC Neo ear drops.
• It would be best if you do not use the drops for any condition other than prescribed by your doctor.
• In case you experience any skin reactions after applying the drops, inform your doctor immediately.
• You should not use this drop for a prolonged duration or more than the prescribed duration.
• In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

• Use Otek AC Neo ear drops as directed by your doctor.
• Follow all the directions carefully. Do not miss any doses.
• Read the instructions on the label before usage.
• Shake well before use.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying Otek AC Neo ear drops.
• Use the exact number of drops recommended.
• Tilt the head towards one side and place drops in the ear canal.
• Keep head tilted for 2-3 minutes to let the drops soak in the ear.
• Repeat for another ear if required after 5-10 minutes.
• Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area.

• Store Otek AC Neo ear drops below 30°C in a dry place.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• You must not use the ear drops once the expiry date has passed. Discard it properly.
• Do not use the ear drops if you notice the contents are of a different colour or if particles are present.

How Does It Work?

• Otek AC Neo ear drops work by the combined effect of both its components - Benzocaine and Chloramphenicol.
• Benzocaine is a topical anaesthetic that helps to numb the pain by blocking the pain signals from reaching the brain.
• Chloramphenicol works by preventing the formation of proteins necessary to perform vital functions, stopping the growth of bacteria and preventing further spreading of infection.

Interactions with other medicines

• Otek AC Neo ear drop is meant for local application on the ear. Thus, it is less likely to interact with other medicines taken orally. However, it may interact with other topically applied medicine on the ear. Discuss with your doctor if you are already on another topical medicine.
• There is limited information available on the interaction of Otek Ac with other medicines. However, as it contains two different components, any interaction seen with these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination.
• Medicines for cancer such as methotrexate, medicines for the immune system such as azathioprine and chymotrypsin (dietary supplement) should be used with caution.
