Medical Description

Osil cream is a combination used to treat piles. It contains allantoin, hydrocortisone, aloe vera extract, calcium and lidocaine (also called lignocaine). Osil cream is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor. You may experience some application site reactions as side effects but they normally fade away with time. Please report to your doctor if you notice the side effects persist or worsen.

How Does It Work?

  • Calcium dobesilate works by protecting the blood vessels of the anal and lowest part of the rectum area. It promotes normal blood flow by reducing blood viscosity and improves blood supply through the blood vessels of the anal area. It also helps in reducing swelling.
  • Hydrocortisone works by blocking or reducing the action of some natural substances in the skin that cause swelling, redness and allergies.
  • Lidocaine (also called Lignocaine) is a local anaesthetic and works by blocking pain.
  • Allantoin works by helping the dead skin cells fall off, keeping the skin hydrated, thus softening and moisturizing the skin.
  • Aloe vera extract has powerful healing properties. It also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory actions on the skin.
