Description

Nisu P Tablets contain nimesulide and paracetamol as the main ingredients. It is used to treat fever, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, and acute gout. It is also used to treat period p

ain, muscle pain, dental pain, low back pain, and post-surgical pain. Nimesulide and paracetamol decrease the production of natural substances that causes inflammation. Paracetamol also increases the threshold for pain in the brain and lowers fever by acting on the part of the brain that controls body temperature. This medicine is only available on a doctor's prescription and should be taken at a dose and for a duration prescribed by the doctor. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any ingredients or if you have other health problems. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. If these effects persist or worsen, seek medical help immediately.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Concomitant use of fenofibrate, salicylic acid, valproic acid, or tolbutamide can displace nimesulide from the binding sites in blood
  • Nimesulide can displace methotrexate and frusemide from the binding sites in blood
  • Nimesulide increases the effectiveness of warfarin
  • Nimesulide decreases the effectiveness of theophylline
  • Concomitant use of cholestyramine or activated charcoal reduces absorption of paracetamol
  • Concomitant use of domperidone or metoclopramide increases absorption of paracetamol
  • Paracetamol decreases the effectiveness of zidovudine
  • Concomitant use of alcohol increases the liver damage caused by paracetamol
