Medical Description

New Glycodin syrup is a cough and cold preparation. It is used for the temporary relief of cough due to throat irritation, and allergic conditions like sneezing and runny nose. It contains chlorpheniramine and dextromethorphan as its active ingredients.

Chlorpheniramine is an anti-allergic medicine, whereas dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. New Glycodin syrup should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. You can take New Glycodin syrup with or without food.

Shake the bottle well before each use. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. It is not recommended to use this syrup in children below 2 years of age.

According to the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry, cough and cold medications should not be prescribed or dispensed to children under two years of age.
