Medical Description

Myosone plus tablet is used for the treatment of painful and spastic muscle conditions. It contains eperisone and paracetamol as the main ingredient that belongs to muscle relaxant and analgesic or antipyretic group of medicines. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any of the contents of this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are addicted to alcohol, any liver or kidney problems or taking medicines like painkillers and other muscle relaxant medicines. Take your doctor's advice before using if it if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you develop any symptoms of allergic reactions. Take the exact doses as prescribed by your doctor.

Uses

  • Myosone plus tablet is used in the treatment of pain and swelling associated with muscle spasm conditions such as neck-shoulder-arm syndrome (symptoms like numbness in fingers, pain in shoulder, arm, and neck) scapulohumeral peri arthritis (muscle and joint injury and inflammation around capsule of shoulder) and low back pain.

Contraindications

  • If you are having a history of allergy to Myosone plus tablet or any of the contents of this medicine.
  • If you have a liver or kidney related problem.
  • If you have a high level of potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia).
  • If you are already taking any other medicines such as antibiotics, antiviral medicines, antihypertensives etc.

Overdose

If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. An overdose of this medicine may increase the chances of delayed and serious liver damage. You may also feel being sick, loss of appetite and stomach pain.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed taking a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to make up for the forgotten dose. Do not stop taking this medicine without a doctor’s advice, as this may result in a flare-up of symptoms.

  • Eperisone is a muscle relaxant. It acts in the brain and the spinal cord and blocks the centres which are responsible for the muscle contractions and spasm. Thus, it relaxes the inflamed muscles.
  • Paracetamol blocks the effects of certain chemicals in the body and produces analgesic (painkilling) and antipyretic (reduces fever) effects. A combination of these medicines helps in relieving painful muscle spasms, swelling and fever associated with it and helps in recovery.

  • Some medicines can affect the way Myosone plus tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Especially if you are taking medicines for diabetes, painkillers, immunosuppressants like ciclosporin, medicines used for heart-related disorders, antidepressants, antihypertensives etc.
  • Other medicines that should be used with caution are anti-sickness medicines like domperidone, oral anticoagulants like warfarin, antibiotics like chloramphenicol etc.
