Medical Description
Mucopain gel is used to reduce the pain or discomfort of mouth problems like mouth ulcers, toothache or pain due to dentures. It contains benzocaine as an active ingredient. This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to it or are below the age of 12 years. It is meant for external use and must be used in doses and duration as recommended by the doctor. Mucopain is meant for topical oral application and should not be swallowed. It is advised to avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after applying the Mucopain gel.

- If you are allergic to benzocaine or other ingredients of the Mucopain gel.
- If you suffer from a blood disorder where you cannot convert methaemoglobin to haemoglobin.
- The medicine is not recommended in patients below 12 years of age.

Interactions with other medicines
- Effects of the Mucopain gel alters when taken along with sulphonamide antibiotics likes sulfisoxazole, sulfamethoxazole. Concurrent use of these medicines must be avoided.
- Inform the doctor if you are taking other medicines, topical preparations and supplements to avoid interactions.
