Description

Mpill Tablet is used by women as an emergency contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It should not be used as a regular contraceptive method. This medication can be used when other contraceptiv

e method fails (broken condom) or when contraception is not used. Mpill Tablet should be consumed within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse for it to work. Mpill Tablet contains levonorgestrel as its active component. It belongs to the progestins class of medications. It works by changing hormonal levels that prevent the release of an egg from the ovary, or it stops the fertilisation of the egg by the sperm cells. It can also work by causing changes in the lining of the uterus, which prevents the fertilised egg from attaching so it cannot develop. This medication does not stop pregnancy if you are already pregnant. Mpill also does not protect from sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, etc. This medicine may not work in some women who are obese or currently using medication that interfere with its function. Mpill Tablet works best if you take this medicine as soon as possible after the intercourse. This tablet is also known as the morning-after pill.

Contraindications of Mpill 1.5 MG

If you are allergic to any ingredient of Mpill Tablet
If you are having an episode of abnormal vaginal bleeding
If you are already pregnant
If you have a certain type of breast cancer
If you have a blood clotting disorder, this medicine increases the chances of blood clots
If you have a certain blood disorder like Porphyria
If you had a history of stroke or a bleeding disorder

Pregnancy

Can I take the Mpill Tablet during pregnancy?

No, Mpill Tablet is to prevent pregnancy. It is not helpful if you are already pregnant. Hence, this medicine is contraindicated in pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Can I take the Mpill Tablet while breastfeeding?

Consult your doctor before using Mpill Tablet if you are a breastfeeding mother. There are limited studies in humans, and they have shown that a small amount of the medicine might pass through breast milk to the baby. But those studies proved this medicine to be safe in breastfeeding mothers 12 weeks after delivery.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken the Mpill Tablet?

No, do not drive after taking the Mpill Tablet. It can cause side effects like dizziness and blurred vision that can affect your ability to drive and can be dangerous during driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Mpill Tablet?

Yes, you can consume alcohol after using Mpill Tablet. Alcohol has not shown any interference with the functioning of this medicine. However, try to avoid drinking alcohol, as this medicine can cause side effects like dizziness in some people.

You are feeling dizzy or tired.
You have a liver or kidney problem, this medicine should be used with caution to prevent side effects.
You have diabetes, use caution and monitor the blood sugar levels
You have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer.
You have been diagnosed with asthma, migraine, seizure disorder, heart condition, etc.
You have been diagnosed with depression. This medicine should be used with caution.
You have an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus); this medicine does not prevent it.

Directions for Use of Mpill 1.5 MG

Take the Mpill Tablet to prevent conception.
Mpill Tablet should be taken within 72 hours of intercourse.
Do not take more than one Mpill at a time.
You can take Mpill Tablet with or without consuming the food.
Take this pill as a whole with a glass of water.
Do not break the tablet into pieces or chew it.
Do not take Mpill with other medications without informing your doctor.
Do not take this pill if the package has been opened.
