Uses
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets are used in the treatment of depression.
Contraindications
- Do not take Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets or take with caution:
- If you have a known hypersensitivity to Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets or any of its compounds
- If you have been diagnosed with severe kidney, liver or heart ailments
- If you are a child or adolescent under 18

Interactions with other medicines
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as tranylcypromine, phenelzine, and isocarboxazid. In combination with mirtazapine, these medications increase the risk of Serotonin Syndrome, which is a high concentration of serotonin in the body.
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with certain antibiotics like lefamulin. Combining these medications can cause abnormally high serotonin levels.
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with certain antifungal medications like voriconazole. Combining these medications can increase the effect or level of mirtazapine by influencing intestinal or hepatic enzyme metabolism.
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with certain antidepressants like amitriptyline. Combining these medications can cause abnormal heart rate and fever.
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with certain painkillers like tramadol. Combining these medications can lead to coma and even death.
- Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets should not be taken with certain antipsychotics like olanzapine. Combining these medications can raise the risk of an abnormal heart rhythm that can be potentially serious and life-threatening. However, it is a considerably rare adverse effect.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid caffeine when on treatment with Mirsol 7.5 mg tablets. This increases the risk of Serotonin Syndrome that may cause symptoms like disorientation, hallucination, seizure, severe variations in blood pressure, rapid heart rate, excessive sweating, fever, shivering or trembling, and impaired vision.
