Uses
- Lypin tablets are prescribed for the treatment of Insomnia.
Contraindications
- Lypin tablet is contraindicated if-
- You are allergic or hypersensitive to Zolpidem.
- You suffer from a breathing problem like Respiratory Depression.
- You have a muscular disorder (Myasthenia Gravis).
- You have a severe liver disorder.
- You are under 18 years of age.

- You have a history or present diagnosis of any kidney, liver, or heart disorders.
- You or your family member have a history or present condition of mental illness like depression.
- You notice a change in thoughts or feel suicidal after taking the Lypin tablets.
- You are taking any sort of medicine, vitamins, or supplements, even if it is ayurvedic at present.
- You have to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking the Lypin tablet.
- You would like to either stop or alter the dose of the Lypin tablet. Discontinuing the medicine without consulting your doctor can worsen the situation.
- You notice symptoms of withdrawal like lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, tremors, sweating, flushing, etc.
- You have an urge to take the Lypin tablet beyond the dose or duration. It has habit-forming potential and should be reported to the doctor.
- You have an allergic reaction like skin rash, swollen tongue after taking the Lypin tablet.
- You have been informed, or you notice that you wake up and indulge in some activity at night, and you cannot recall the incident the next day.
Directions for Use
- Lypin tablets have to be taken only with a doctor’s recommendation. Generally, it is prescribed for a shorter duration, and one has to maintain a strict schedule. Do not exceed the dose and duration without a doctor’s approval.
- Proper timings also need to be maintained. It has to be taken 30-45 minutes before the preferred sleeping time.
- Mostly a 10 mg dose is advised for men and 5 mg for women.
- Take Lypin tablets orally with water. The tablets should not be distorted in any way by either crushing or breaking for use.
- Lypin tablets can be consumed with or without food.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Lypin tablet can interact with the following medicines-
- Codeine (given in cough), Clonazepam (medicine for seizures) - it can increase the depressive action on the nervous system.
- Ketoconazole (antifungal), Erythromycin (antibiotic) - it can reduce the metabolism of Zolpidem and also increases the risk of side effects.
- Chlorpromazine (antipsychotic) - it can increase the risk of severity of side effects.
- Rifampicin (antibiotic) - it can reduce the efficacy of Zolpidem.
- Acetaminophen (painkiller )- it can increase the metabolism of Zolpidem.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid taking the Lypin tablet with a high-fat diet and caffeinated beverages as it is known to affect the absorption of Zolpidem, thus decreasing the efficacy of Lypin tablets.
