Lypin 10 mg tablet is a prescription medicine recommended for a person with insomnia. Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep on your own. Lypin tablets contain Zolpidem as the active ingredient. Zolpidem is a type of sedative-hypnotic. It works by slowing the brain’s activity, which, in turn, reduces the time required for sleep onset and also improves sleep quality. Lypin tablets can exhibit various side effects, including drowsiness, tiredness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty maintaining balance, nausea, constipation, and diarrhoea. The tablet should be taken with a doctor's recommendation only. Lypin tablets are usually prescribed for a shorter duration. The tablets should be taken only when you have sufficient time to rest in hand, which is at least around 7 hours. You should take the dose and duration of the Lypin tablet as prescribed by the doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine on your own; it can lead to withdrawal symptoms. Directions for Use

  • Lypin tablets have to be taken only with a doctor’s recommendation. Generally, it is prescribed for a shorter duration, and one has to maintain a strict schedule. Do not exceed the dose and duration without a doctor’s approval.
  • Proper timings also need to be maintained. It has to be taken 30-45 minutes before the preferred sleeping time.
  • Mostly a 10 mg dose is advised for men and 5 mg for women.
  • Take Lypin tablets orally with water. The tablets should not be distorted in any way by either crushing or breaking for use.
  • Lypin tablets can be consumed with or without food.

Missed a Dose

In case you miss a dose of Lypin tablet, take the tablet as soon as you remember the dose. However, if it is almost the time for the next one, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose. Moreover, do not take the skipped dose in the morning, assuming it is not the time for the next one. Its basic function is to induce sleep, and taking the tablet in the morning will make you sleepy the entire day.

  • Rifampicin (antibiotic) - it can reduce the efficacy of Zolpidem.
  • Acetaminophen (painkiller )- it can increase the metabolism of Zolpidem.

Interactions with food items

  • Avoid taking the Lypin tablet with a high-fat diet and caffeinated beverages as it is known to affect the absorption of Zolpidem, thus decreasing the efficacy of Lypin tablets.
