Medical Description

Lurafic is a prescription medication. The active ingredient of the medication is Lurasidone. This tablet is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It can even be used along with other tablets such as lithium. Schizophrenia is a medical condition associated with features such as delusions, hallucinations, and an altered thought pattern that severely affects daily life and the ability to perform regular tasks in some patients. The exact cause for this condition is unknown, but it is likely related to altered levels of certain chemical messengers in the brain known as neurotransmitters. The medication should be taken as recommended by your treating physician. It is generally advisable to take the tablet at the same time every day as this ensures the best action of the medication, decreasing the chances of relapse of symptoms significantly. It is also recommended to complete the entire course of the medication as prescribed by the treating physician. Abruptly stopping this drug can cause worsening symptoms.
