Lupase capsule is used when the pancreas does not provide enough digestive enzymes to break down food. It contains pancreatin, a combination of amylase, protease and lipase enzymes that digest carbohydrates, proteins and fats. These enzymes work in the intestine to help the body absorb nutrients when pancreatic enzyme production is low. Lupase capsule is taken by mouth with food or snacks as advised and should be swallowed whole so its protective coating can release the enzymes in the intestine.
