- Linotril tablet is used for
- Treatment of anxiety
- Treatment of epilepsy
- Management of symptoms of sleep disorders
- Management of symptoms of panic disorders
Contraindications
- If you are allergic or are hypersensitive to Clonazepam or other Benzodiazepines.
- If you have a liver disorder.
- If you have Glaucoma.
- If you have Myasthenia gravis (muscular disorder).
- If you have a blood disorder.
- If you have any mental disorder or your family has had any history of mental illness or substance abuse.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

- You have a history of eye, liver and kidney disorders.
- You have a history or present condition of any mental illness.
- You notice any changes in the vision.
- You are having trouble breathing.
- You notice any behavioural change or have suicidal thoughts.
- You notice an allergic reaction like swollen tongue, rashes etc. after taking the Linotril tablets.
- You are taking any other medicine at present.
- You are taking any vitamins or any sort of supplements along with the Linotril tablet.
- You are below 18 years of age.
- You want to alter the dose of the Linotril tablet. Do not discontinue the medicine on your own; it might worsen the current situation.
Directions for Use
- Linotril tablet has to be taken only according to the doctor’s recommendation.
- It is generally prescribed for a longer duration and has to be taken about 2-3 times a day.
- The tablet needs to be taken at the same time every day.
- Linotril tablets can be taken with or without the food, although it is better to consume the tablet with food to avoid any stomach problems.
- Linotril tablets should be taken orally with water. The medicine should not be distorted in any way by either chewing or crushing for use.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Clarithromycin (antibiotic), Ketoconazole (an antifungal medicine), and Diltiazem (medicine for high blood pressure) can decrease the metabolism of Linotril.
- Aceclofenac (pain killer) and Cimetidine (medicine for the treatment of heartburn) can delay the excretion of Linotril.
- Hydrocodone, Codeine (pain killer) and Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant) can increase the depression of the nervous system if taken along with Linotril tablet.
- Alprazolam (antianxiety medicine) can increase the severity of certain side effects.
- Acetaminophen (pain killer) increases the metabolism of Linotril.
Interactions with food items
- Linotril tablet is not known to interact with any particular food item.
