Uses
- Levo Anawin 0.5 % injection is a local anaesthetic and is used during surgeries to numb the area of the body.
- It is very useful in providing relief of labour pain.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to bupivacaine or any of the other ingredients of Levo Anawin 0.5 % injection.
- If you are allergic to any other anaesthetics like Lidocaine or Ropivacaine.
- If you have any infection on the skin around the area where you will be injected.
- If you have low blood pressure.
- It should not be used around the cervix during the early stages of labour.
- It should not be used to numb an area by injecting it into the vein.

Interactions with other medicines
- Levo Anawin 0.5 % injection may interact with other medicines, discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or any vaccination scheduled.
- Levo Anawin 0.5 % injection should be used carefully in patients receiving other local pain relief medicines like amide-type local anaesthetics, such as lidocaine and mexiletine, as the damage at cell level that causes organ failure adds to the other side effects.
- You should be cautious when using this medicine along with medicines like amiodarone (used in heart problems).
- Concomitant use of Levo Anawin 0.5 % injection along with ketoconazole (an antifungal medicine) and methylxanthines should be avoided, as it can alter the effects of this medicine.
