How Does It Work?
Our body produces angiotensin-II, which causes constriction of blood vessels and results in an increase in blood pressure. The medicine prevents the binding of angiotensin-II to its receptors, thus causing blood vessels to relax and reducing the blood pressure.

Interactions with other medicines
- This medicine interacts with other medicines such as aspirin and NSAIDs, which can reduce its action on blood pressure. All ACE inhibitors must be avoided and medicines known to increase potassium levels such as diuretics should be avoided.read less

- A low-salt diet is preferred. You should avoid high potassium-containing foods as high levels of potassium can lead to weakness, irregular heartbeats, confusion, tingling of the extremities or feeling of heaviness in the legs.read less
