Medical Description

Hinate ointment is used for thick, inflamed, and scaly skin conditions such as psoriasis, severe eczema, and selected scaling disorders. It contains clobetasol, a strong steroid for short-term use as prescribed, and salicylic acid, a peeling ingredient that loosens built-up dead skin. Clobetasol calms redness, swelling, and itching, while salicylic acid softens thick scale and helps the steroid reach affected skin. Hinate ointment is for external use only and should be applied as a thin layer to the affected areas advised by your doctor.

  • Severe eczema: Inflamed, itchy, rough skin may become thick or scaly; this ointment helps calm inflammation and loosen excess scale when prescribed.
  • Other thick scaly skin conditions: Selected disorders with excess dead skin may improve as salicylic acid loosens scale and clobetasol reduces inflammation.

How does this medicine work?

Clobetasol is a strong steroid that reduces the release of substances responsible for skin redness, swelling, and itching. Salicylic acid is a peeling ingredient that loosens the bonds holding dead skin cells together and softens thick scales. This allows clobetasol to reach inflamed skin more effectively.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Hinate ointment works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention other steroid creams, peeling treatments, acne treatments, or medicines that suppress immunity used on the same area.

Interactions with food items

No specific food interaction is known because Hinate ointment is applied to the skin.
