Description

Glucomet 500 tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It is used to improve the control of blood sugar levels in individuals with Type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone have not been enough to co

ntrol blood sugar levels. It is used particularly in overweight patients. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition where your pancreas does not make enough insulin to control your blood sugar levels and your body is unable to efficiently use its own insulin. This causes high blood sugar levels in your body, which can cause medical problems like heart disease, kidney disease, blindness and poor blood flow in your hands and legs. Glucomet 500 tablet contains metformin as the active substance. This medicine should not be used in children less than 10 years of age. Take this medicine exactly as recommended by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own even if you start feeling better.

Glucomet 500 tablet is used to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus in overweight patients when dietary changes and exercise fail to achieve adequate control of blood sugar levels.

Contraindications of Glucomet 500 MG

If you are allergic to metformin or any other ingredient of Glucomet 500 tablet.
If you have kidney or liver disease.
If you have conditions such as dehydration, shock, or severe infection.
If you have an acid-base imbalance in the body or diabetes complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis.
If you have conditions such as heart failure, lung failure, shock, or heart attack.
If you had unconsciousness due to either extremely high or low blood sugar levels.

Can I drive if I have consumed Glucomet 500 tablet?

Glucomet 500 tablet has no effect on ability to drive. However, after taking this medicine, if you experience symptoms which may affect your ability to drive properly, it is suggested that you do not drive.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Glucomet 500 tablet?

Alcohol intake should be avoided when taking Glucomet 500 tablet as it increases the risk of lactic acidosis (acid-base imbalance).
